“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

We apologize for not getting a newsletter and updates out sooner! Thank you for keeping in touch with us through other platforms. The holiday season is a hard time to be away from friends and family, but we are encouraged by your support and prayers always!

September Updates

Ross had an amazing opportunity at the end of September to participate 10-days of a 21-day Public Service training with FBR along the border of Burma. The training was focused on providing practical skills for survival and reporting of the brutality being conducted by the current ruling regime. Over 60 men and women who are typically divided along ethnic lines found unity in their struggle for freedom from the oppression of the military dictatorship that rules the country.  Their hearts were hungry and there were many opportunities to share about Jesus and His ability to give us TRUE freedom.
Eirenee' also finalized the Sunday School curriculum she was developing and it was sent in to Burma for usage at one of the camps! The theme of the curriculum was "God the All-Wise" and it provided a 12-week program for the 30+ kids at the camp.
October Updates
October was a challenging month as there were several positive COVID cases in our community forcing us to isolate for 14-days. Our church also returned to a virutal service for the month due to the cases and residual fear in the neighborhood surrounding our building. We spent a lot of time and energy navigating the implications of COVID in our community, church, and with Luca's school. We are thankful for God's provision through this time!
Ross accepted an invitation to join the LIFT International advisory board. You may remember that he served as a consultant for LIFT in the spring and worked to develop a program for empowerment. His role will last for the next 6-12 months as LIFT undergoes organizational change. He is thankful for the opportunity to serve!
November Updates
We celebrated 2 years of marriage! Praise God!
November also saw us return to in-person church services and provided some opportunities to minister through FBR. It feels like we are becoming pros at getting church ministries running again after pauses from COVID.
Ross has been heavily engaged reshaping the churches ministry structure and developing systems to focus and support the churches ministry efforts. He continues to pray for people to step forward in roles of leadership in various ministries. All in God's timing... but would you be interested in serving internationally?? :)
Our churches administrative coordinator took a leave of absence so he has taken on some additional tasks too. He has become the weekly church "newsletter ninja"...which is probably why this newsletter has taken so long to be written... ;) He also continues to coordinate events and is looking forward to preaching again on 26 December.
Eirenee' is really enjoying running the Youth Ministry at CCF as it grows rapidly. She spends most of her time coordinating Sunday services, ministering to students, training student leaders, as well as hosting events for the youth. The Youth Christmas Party is just around the corner!
"It has been one of the most fruitful ministries I have ever been apart of. It's neat to have started with 12 teens and now we have 50 show up on any given Sunday. My favorite part is giving them ownership of the ministry and training teens to lead it alongside me."
We have really enjoyed the ability to love the people in our church and in FBR! These people are working tirelessly in ministry locally and internationally. We have found a time of food and fellowship goes a long way! Ministering to the missionaries and others in vocational ministry has become a huge part of our own ministry here. It has been fun to see how God continues to lead us.
The gift of our house has provided many opportunities to host people for dinners, campfires, game nights and beyond. We were able to host a party for our church elders and staff them this past weekend where we also farewelled one of our elders who is transitioning back to the U.S. We will be hosting an outdoor Christmas Eve service in a few weeks - please pray for this!

We both continue to serve together at FBR at the headquaters in Chiang Mai and have some exciting future plans with them for the new year.

We helped lead a GLC (Good Life Club) program at a Karen village*. GLC is similar to a vacation Bible school with opportunities to minister to the kids through singing, playing, and sharing the Gospel with them. The village is about 6-hours away. We were thankful for 4-wheel drive trucks as we bounced along for hours up and down dirt, washed out roads. Several of our team members also installed a Water Filtration System to provide the village with clean water. We are hoping to do another program after the holidays and combine it with an opportunity to install the filtration system in another village.

* Note: The Karen people are one of several ethnic tribes that live in and around Chiang Mai. Their people group extends across national lines into Burma.

-Thailand has opened it's borders again.
-Youth program is multiplying and students are growing their relationship with Christ.
-Ross' trip to help support FBR training.
-Love like Jesus by only Jesus' provision and not our own strength
-Faithfulness to the work God has led us to
